Obituary for Daljit Kaur Sidhu
In Loving Memory
DALJIT KAUR SIDHU
March 31, 1963 – August 22, 2020
With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Daljit Kaur Sidhu of Abbotsford (Village Khote, Moga) at the untimely age of 57 years, after a brave battle against cancer.
Daljit is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Nirmal Singh Sidhu. Nirmal and Daljit wed in 1995, a marriage arranged by Nirmal’s sisters, Harbans Kaur Gill and Balwinder Kaur Tiwana (Jit Singh). Their marriage was characterized by their unwavering mutual commitment to each other, a selfless willingness to fiercely prioritize their extended family, their mutual love and respect for one another and a sense of playfulness and good humour.
They have been active members of the community in Abbotsford where they raised their children Sandy, Robin, Harman (Manpal) and Justin and nieces and nephews Jag (Preet), Jason, Jasmeen and Amrit. She was endlessly patient and nurturing and her loving maternal support for all of her kids was unconditional. Her granddaughters Aikam and Emaan, hold fond memories of learning to sew with Naniji and will cherish her lovingly handmade clothing for them and their dolls. Her mother-in-law Surjit Kaur Sidhu, whom she affectionately called Beeji, and her mother Hardev Kaur Mann, survive her with broken hearts. She will be missed dearly by all whose lives she touched. She leaves a void, in our lives and in our hearts, that cannot be filled.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private immediate family only funeral service will be held on August 29, 2020 followed by a socially distanced prayer service at Abbotsford Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan. ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੀਬੀ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਿਧੂ ਧਰਮ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਧੂ ਪਿਛਲੇ 25 ਸਾਲ ਤੋ ਐਬਟਸਫੌਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ।ਜਿਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਛਲਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੋਟੇ ਜਿਲਾ ਮੋਗਾ ਸੀ । ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ 57 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਭੋਗ ਕੇ ਮਿਤੀ 22ਅਗਸਤ ਸਨਿੱਚਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਦੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।ਜਿਨਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ 29 ਅਗਸਤ ਸਨਿੱਚਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ । ਅੰਤਮ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਐਬਟਸਫੋਡ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
