Obituary for Gurbachan Singh Gill

Gurbachan Singh Gill passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Gurbachan was born on June 20, 1948 in Smalsar, Moga, Punjab India. Gurbachan immigrated to Canada on April 7, 1997 with his wife, Manjit Kaur, and his daughters. He is predeceased by his father (Mukhand Singh), mother (Bachan Kaur), sister (Jaspal Kaur) and brother (Gajan Singh). Gurbachan leaves behind his wife (Manjit Kaur), his four daughters and son-in-laws and seven grandchildren. Within his 72 years of life Gurbachan has accomplished many great things and was a father figure to every person within his life. Gurbachan is the true definition of hard work, there is not one day that he did not work. From the village of Ramuwala Kalan, Punjab to Abbotsford B.C, his work ethic never declined, but rather multiplied each day. He was a dedicated, honest hard worker and ensured to instill such values within his family as well. There are not enough words in the universe to describe Gurbachan, he was and will always be a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was not a man of many words, yet he managed to leave a significant and positive impact on every individual within his life. Despite him no longer being with us, he would be saying that there is no need to put any attention on him at all; he never apprised his hardships with anyone. There was always a smile on his face, no matter what and was known as “Big Dad” to everybody, family or not. Gurbachan fought a tough battle with cancer and yet did not show any sign of defeat. Gurbachan brought wisdom, happiness, and joy to each and every day. We miss you so much already, and you will always remain within our hearts. You were taken from us too soon, there is so much left for you to see, and experience. Rest in paradise Dad, we love you and miss you so much. We all cherish the time that we have spent together for eternity and we know you will be with us forever in our hearts.
