Obituary for Gursevak Singh Toor

I am at a loss of words to describe how incredible my father was. His warmth, graced the presence of every room he walked into. The last few days for me was a reminder of how much of an impact he had on everyone he met. He treated everyone as if they were their own and he did it so effortlessly because he genuinely cared. He accomplished so much in the time he had on earth due to his hard work and self-motivation and we are grateful for all that he has done.
He is my inspiration and my strength. Watching him in his battle against ALS, while remaining positive and full of hope is truly inspiring.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have known such a kind, loving and giving soul and was glad to have the opportunity to be is daughter. He brought so much happiness into our lives and made sure he showed us as much of this world as he could. Just as he was proud of his children, we are proud that he was our father and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will, just as our father did.
Those we love don’t go away;
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed, and very dear

Love you dad, forever and always.

When I looked at what dad accomplished in his life, it is endless. He made a lasting impression on everyone he came across. As a child, I looked up to him as my hero and he has taught me the value of hard work. I always wanted to be like him because of his qualities and the way he carried himself. He could walk into any room with confidence and make everyone feel welcome with his limitless stories. He was strong and firm, but had a heart of gold. He would not only do anything for his family, but his friends, neighbours and even strangers that needed help. He was the man that anyone would have been happy to have in his life. He was just that amazing! Love you dad.
