Obituary for Scott Lyndon Epp

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Lyndon Epp – husband, father, son(in-law), brother(in-law), uncle, nephew, friend – at the age of 57.
Scott was a man of quick wit and humour, who enjoyed a good laugh. He was very personable and anywhere he went somehow someone knew him, and would be calling “Mr. Epp – welcome back!” Although he may have had an intimidating exterior, he was a soft teddy bear, whom after hitting 40, could shed a few tears even at a good commercial. Scott was a very generous man and walked through day to day carrying a positive attitude. He loved his Seattle Seahawks (and football in general), barbequing, playing cards, travelling (in particular Hawaii and Disneyland), and most importantly, his family and friends.
Scott was born in Biggar, SK, and adopted into the loving home of Adeline and Orlando Epp, joining 3 other siblings, Jerry, Gail, and Sheri-Lynn. Scott started his childhood in Battleford, eventually moving with the family to Abbotsford. In Abbotsford he developed his love for sports, playing softball and hockey.
In 1985, Scott married his high school sweetheart Donna – who was the love of his life, and who he built a marriage with that was a goal for many. Together they brought two daughters into the world, Melissa and Megan. Melissa and Megan were his proudest accomplishments in life. Throughout their childhood, on summer weekends, Scott could be found at swim meets – camping with the Bigfoot and on the pool deck volunteering or cheering on his girls. His career choice was roofing, which he did up until his body no longer could handle it. In recent years his health slowly deteriorated, which although not ideal, gave Scott and Donna an opportunity to spend quality time together.
Scott will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years Donna Epp; daughters Melissa Epp (Danny Laplante) and Megan (Craig) Billay; father Orlando Epp; siblings Jerry (Bev) Epp, Gail Dufault, Sheri-Lynn (Lloyd) McGovern; parent-in laws Marge and Mel Weick; sister-in laws Cheryle (Mirko) Kupsch and Cindy (Kurtis) Sharp; nieces and nephews: April Epp (Derek Moulter), Kim (Kyle) Gallant, Lee Epp, Stef (Brett) Legault, Cory (Ryan) Watson, Malory McGovern (Mat Link), Chris (Laura) Blickensdoerfer, Brianna Blickensdoerfer, Alannah Sharp, Jesseca McGovern (Kevin Parker), Joshi (Melle) Blickensdoerfer, Emma (Conner) Sperling, Erin Sharp, and Niklas Kupsch; dearest family friends Fred and Andrea Redekop and Doris Threlfall; and numerous other friends and extended family members.
He is predeceased by his mother Adeline Epp; brother in-laws Dave Wilson and Marcel Dufault; and nephew Jay Epp.
Scott is planned to be cremated on Tuesday, December 14th, with a service date for the new year to be determined and shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the BC Cancer Society or the Canadian Association for Williams Syndrome in support of important people to Scott.
